The Story of Fishy-baits

Fishy Baits – the original dough bait and hook system invented by Silvano Sarri, refined and perfected to be the best on the market.

Fishy Baits Dough Bait is a third-generation product originating from Bundaberg, Queensland. It was brought to Brisbane where it was refined and manufactured for today’s market.

Fishy-baits Four Year Research and Development Timeline

  • The original third generation formula was given to me by my friend Paul from Bundaberg.
  • Testing started and we were only able to get it staying on the hook for about two and a half minutes on average.
  • After a further six months of working with Kerry (a scientist from Brisbane) and a flour mill (Manildra Group), we were able to refine the original formula to get the dough to stay of the hook for up to five and a half minutes.
  • Once the dough was perfected, we were able to get it to stay on the hook even longer by using a dough holder spring. At this point up to eight and a half minutes.
  • The discovery of the dough-bait protector allowed the bait to stay on the hook for up to half an hour even in a 5 knot current.

Fishy Baits was released in 2015 to give anglers a cleaner bait experience. Dough bait is longer lasting on the FB’s hook system (up to 30 minutes) and can be stored in an Esky (with ice) for a couple of weeks, a caravan or home fridge for up to 2 months, or a freezer for 6 months. It can actually be kept just in your pocket from 2 to 6 hours on walkabout. This gives you the ability to fish anywhere, anytime. To date, Fishy-Bait catches a variety of fish including Bream, Whiting, Garfish, Flathead, Moses Perch, Estuary Cod, Mangrove Jack, Snapper, Grass Emperor, Sole, Spangled Emperor, (and freshwater Tilapia). Reports of newly captured fish come in all the time.
